About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Masta Sports (“Masta”, “we”). They apply when you visit mastasports.com or use the Masta Sports app at app.mastasports.com. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Masta.
What Masta is
Masta is a tool for running grassroots sport: organising teams and fixtures, collecting dues and fines, recording match statistics and showing player cards and ratings. We provide the tools. We are not a club, a league or a team, and we are not part of the agreements players make with their organisers.
Your account
- You must be 16 or over to use Masta. The app asks how old you are when you first sign in. If you are 16 or 17, you may use Masta only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
- Give true information, including your age, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- One person, one account.
Groups, organisers and players
- A person who creates a group is its organiser, and can give others organiser permissions. Organiser powers apply only to the group they belong to, and never carry over to other groups.
- Organisers decide their group’s dues, fines, fixtures and who may play. They are responsible for those decisions and for being fair, honest and lawful in how they use Masta.
- Players are responsible for what they agree to pay and for what they post.
- Disputes between a player and an organiser are between them. We may help, but we are not obliged to.
Payments
- Payments are processed by Paystack. By paying you also agree to Paystack’s terms. We never see or store your card or bank details.
- Money paid for a due, fine or match fee goes to the organiser’s payout account. We do not hold it. Masta charges a service charge on each payment, shown to you before you pay.
- The amount and purpose of a due or fine is set by the organiser. Refunds for these are decided by the organiser, not by Masta, except where we made a mistake, such as charging the wrong amount, in which case we will put it right.
- A receipt is available for each payment in the app.
Your information and how we use it
To provide Masta, we need the information you add and information about how you use the app. By using Masta you agree that we may use it to run the service, to produce analytics and statistics, to improve the app and to develop new features, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Using Masta properly
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use Masta to harass, threaten, impersonate or defraud anyone;
- post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual, or that you do not have the right to share (including other people’s photos without their permission);
- interfere with or try to break into the app, other accounts or our systems, or use bots or scrapers without our written permission;
- enter false match results, statistics or votes to change ratings or rankings.
We may remove content, correct records, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you add (such as your photo and details). You give us permission to store it and to show it to the people and places you choose in the app, and to use it to provide the service. You promise you have the right to add it.
Ratings, cards and statistics
Player cards, ratings, Stars, awards and rankings are calculated by Masta from the information recorded in matches and from votes. They are for fun and for the community. They are not official records and not a judgement of anyone’s ability. We may change how they are calculated, and we may correct errors.
Our service and its limits
- We work hard to keep Masta running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, pause or end parts of it.
- Masta is provided “as is”. Where the law allows, we are not responsible for loss that could not reasonably have been predicted, loss of profit or data, or for what other users do.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
- Taking part in sport carries risk. Masta does not organise or supervise any match and is not responsible for injuries or incidents that happen at one.
Our rights
The Masta name, logo, app, design and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only as part of using the service. Please do not copy or reuse them without our written permission.
Ending things
You can stop using Masta and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or if the law requires. Sections that are meant to continue (such as payments already made and limits on liability) continue after that.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and ask you to agree again if the law requires. Using Masta after a change means you accept it.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Please contact us first so we can try to sort out a problem. If we cannot, the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction, without taking away any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place you live.
